The pool is 5 years old and now is enclosed by a wall and fence to the latest requirements. At the far end of the garden are some fruit trees and a young chestnut, and beyond the fruit trees the garden borders the river. |

This is the Vers river. It orriginates about 5Km up the valley and joins the River Lot about 9Km downstream. Fishing along the river is popular and it is stocked each year with Brown Trout. The river is clean and clear and provides a plentiful year round supply of water for the garden. |

We get frequent visitors to the house, including a number of deer each year. This visitor stayed for a few weeks in the Mill Pond outside the front door. |

We get many many dragonflies, mostly of iridescent green or blue, there are also a lot of black ones with yellow bands. This one was very friendly.
In fact, the David Attanborough Wildlife documentary about Dragonflies was filmed in the neighborouring Cele valley. |
As well as these, we get frequent visits from herons, and a Kingfisher who sits on the railing just outside the front door eyeing up the fish. There is a pair of Buzzards that live nearby and are frequently seen during warm afternoons. Plus Red Kites, Deer, Wild Boar, ducks, moorhens, geese, coypu, owls, ............ |
